Project Mozambique is a Christian charity, dedicated to working with the churches in the country of Mozambique to help them make a difference in their local communities. This we do by providing support in the following four areas:-
1. Producing material for children that can be used in Sunday schools, and which gives children the opportunity to learn and grow in God’s word - the Bible - from a young age. This material is also used in a number of primary schools to help teach Christian morals to children.
2. Recording parts of the Bible onto audio cassette to enable people who are unable to read to have access to God’s Word. Hand driven tape recorders, that require no batteries or electricity, are provided to help in this work.
3. Video presentations which help to teach more of the Bible and assist in general education. The videos are projected in both churches and schools. Included in this work is the showing of the Jesus film in rural churches.
4. Providing support for church leaders to assist them in their work in the local churches. This is done through literature and seminars.
5. The provision of literature for both children and adults. Most of this material is in Portuguese, and is printed at it’s base in Beira.
Please note - Much of this literature, including all children’s material, is available for churches and missions in other parts of Mozambique, and in other Portuguese speaking countries. Please take a look at literature page to see more of what we have. For further information please contact us at projectomoz@tdm.co.mz.

Project Mozambique was set up by Chris Hemborough and his wife Cámica (Maria do Carmo). Chris is from the U.K. and Cámica is from Portugal. In Mozambique they are greatly assisted with their small team of local Christians. In the U.K. Project Mozambique is a registered charity, and in Mozambique it is registered with the Department for Religious Affairs under the name ‘Organização Projecto Moçambique’, and is based in the city of Beira. The overall aim of Project Mozambique is to assist the churches so that they are equipped to serve their local communities. Click here to contact us.
