Sunday school work
During this year Domingos has been to various areas in the centre of Mozambique, distributing more Sunday school activity books, and training the teachers in the use of the material. We always pray that the seed which is sown through this work will continue to produce fruit in the lives of children and young people. At the same time we thank God for the fruit we already see, such as in the testimony we received from the province of Manica of a girl who was attending a Sunday school where our books were being used. The girl’s father was not a believer, but through the girl’s testimony to her family her father accepted Christ Jesus into his life, and he is now a pastor in his local church. This is a wonderful testimony for us, and shows how God uses everyone, including children, to share His Good News. It also reminds us of the time when Jesus said, “… unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 18 v.3).
... and in ordinary schools
We continue to have a team that is working in schools in Beira, and in Dondo (30 kilometres from Beira). It is always an encouragement to here how the schools like to receive this work because of the positive impact that it has on the lives of the pupils. The teachers appreciate very much the material we produce, and many children attend the lessons. Please continue to pray for this work, thanking God for the open doors that we have.
Scripture Recordings and Bible Studies.
The purchase of the Yamaha motor bike has been a great help for us, enabling Inácio to visit churches in the rural communities with greater frequency. In regards to the bible studies we are seeing a real and strong growth in this work. Many people like to take part in the studies, and our prayer remains that they continue to know Jesus as Lord and Savior in their lives.
In regards to the Scripture recordings in the Sena language, the recent purchase of a Notebook will facilitate the work with the MP3’s that we are distributing, as Inácio will be able to change the recordings out in the rural churches. Loading the MP3’s with more different Scripture recordings will open up even more of God’s Word for the people.
Projection of the Jesus film
At the present time we are preparing further showings of the Jesus film for the months of August, September and October. Please pray for our Land Rover. It suffered a major breakdown in January but is working again now. The Land Rover is very important for this type of work, because of the equipment we have to transport to project the film, and also to reach the more isolated communities with the material for the Sunday schools, and with the Bible studies and Scripture recordings; so please pray that we can reach all those areas with no transport problems.
